Eleven dedicated Veterinary Technology students from Southern Regional Technical College's Thomasville Campus were honored at a prestigious pinning ceremony on April 30, marking a significant milestone in their journey to become compassionate and skilled veterinary technicians. The ceremony symbolized the students' commitment to providing exceptional care to animals, and it was a proud moment for family members, friends, and faculty who witnessed the event.

The Veterinary Technology program at SRTC is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to succeed in this demanding field. The program curriculum includes coursework in animal anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and clinical procedures, as well as hands-on experience through clinical rotations at veterinary hospitals and clinics. This comprehensive education prepares graduates to pursue careers in a variety of settings, such as private veterinary practices, animal shelters, zoos, and research facilities.

As veterinary technicians, these graduates will play a crucial role in the veterinary healthcare team, assisting veterinarians with tasks such as administering medications, performing laboratory tests, taking radiographs, and providing nursing care to animals. The Thomasville Campus of SRTC serves a vital role in providing technical education and training to students in Southwest Georgia, contributing to the workforce development needs of the region. The Veterinary Technology program is one of many programs offered at the campus, and it is a testament to the college's commitment to preparing students for successful careers in the field of veterinary medicine.
